EU, euro area GDP both up in Q4, 2014 - Xinhua News

BRUSSELS, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) in the EU and the euro area increased by 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent respectively during the fourth quarter of 2014 when compared with the previous quarter, Eurostat said Friday.

By contrast, during the third quarter of 2014, GDP grew by 0.3 percent in the 28-member EU and 0.2 percent in the 18-member euro area, according to the statistics office of the EU.

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.9 percent in the euro area and by 1.3 percent in the EU in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The statistical data is based on Eurostat's second estimate for the quarterly period.

外资公司撤离中国真相

手表制造商西铁城精密（广州）有限公司宣布关闭；日本松下公司表示近期将从中国撤出两条彩电生产线；微软决定逐步关停原诺基亚在华两家手机生产线……

大范围撤离潮已至？在华外资企业“黄金时代”远走？

企业经营是永无止息的动态进程，有生有死、有进有退，破产清算也在所难免，关键在于总量——外资进入减去退出后的净流量。

放眼全局，近几个月中国实际利用外资同比趋向上升。2014年上半年，中国非金融领域实际利用外资金额同比增长；从7月份开始，非金融领域累计实际利用外资金额同比减少：1~7月同比减少0.4%，1~8月同比减少1.8%，1~9月同比减少1.4%，1~10月同比减少1.2%。从11月开始，非金融领域累计实际利用外资金额同比止跌回升：1~11月同比增长0.7%，1~12月同比增长1.7%。

数据说话：2014年全年新设外商投资企业23778家，实际使用外资金额1195.6亿美元，超过美国成为世界利用外商直接投资第一大国。

具体而言，部分西方大型跨国公司关闭在华工厂的主因并非中国商业环境恶化，而是这些企业竞争力相对于中国内资企业和第三国企业衰退而难以为继，或是不得不转型。

最典型者，莫过于此前在全球市场独领风骚却连续数年巨亏的日本家电产业。随着中、韩同行迅猛崛起，接连发生重大决策失误的日本家电产业已经无可奈何沦为明日黄花，仅索尼公司一家的家电业务过去10年累计亏损总额就超过3000亿日元。

于是，一些日本家电企业不得不选择收缩全球制造业务，并非仅关闭中国工厂。事实上，他们通常都会保留与中国的生产链关系，即保持向中国生产企业提供中间产品或其它投入品。

困窘至极的夏普不仅向银行要求1500亿日元的“资本支援”，而且可能要求三星提供资金援助；同时收缩战线，断腕求生，一口气退出了墨西哥、东南亚、澳大利亚等市场。即使如此，夏普也仍然保留了与中国的生产链关系。

至于昔日世界头号手机品牌诺基亚，由于在竞争中没落，关闭全球工厂也是必然选择。

那么，西方巨头折戟沉沙，是否意味着中国制造业的萧条呢？非也。沉舟侧畔千帆过，病树前头万木春，中国本土产业正生气勃勃地成长起来。

1998年第一部国产手机科健KGH-2000型上市时，中国境内生产的396万部手机全部出自三资企业。

2012年，中国手机产量已经上升到11.8154亿部，比1998年增长297.4倍，年均增幅超过50%，占当年全球手机销售量（15.8亿部）的75%。

2013年全球手机出货18亿部，我国手机产量就达到14.5561亿部，增长23.2%，占全球出货量的81.1%。

再有，中国手表品牌飞亚达、海鸥在持续增长，驰名世界的瑞士名表机芯已经有一大半出自中国内资企业的工厂，我们又何必对西铁城精密（广州）有限公司宣布关闭这一个案反应过激呢？

进一步分析，上述西方跨国公司关闭在华老工厂，是否意味着放弃中国市场呢？除非破产清盘，否则他们一般都在进行业务转型，努力保住中国市场。

毕竟，中国的经济规模很可能在10年之内超越美国跃居世界第一，目前就已是多种原料、消费品和资本设备的世界最大消费市场，且仍保持着全世界数一数二的增长速度，退出这样一个市场对任何志在保住“江湖地位”的跨国公司都意味着自杀。

当然，客观看待部分外资跨国公司关闭在华工厂，并不意味着我们就要忽视改善中国投资环境的问题。在中国实际已资本净输出国、且资本输出还将持续快速增长的背景下，我们尤其需要重视这一点。
